A good number of residents, together with John Penrose MP, met at the Post Office to demonstrate against the proposed closure of the Kewstoke Post Office. After a press photo call, many people joined in the march over Monk's Hill to the "nearest" nominated alternative Post Office in Milton Road. A walk over the 1 in 4 Monk's Hill is totally unrealistic for those without transport, as the majority are elderly or infirm. The alternative way to reach Milton Road Post Office is by car or by public transport.
The only bus route from the village is from Sandbay, Kewstoke into town. Residents would not then take the second bus to Milton Post Office - they would use the Main Post Office in the town centre.

[22/08/08] UPDATE- Unfortunately the campaign to save the Post Office failed and Kewstoke no longer has Post Office facilities. Thank you to all who were actively involved in supporting Mark Tottle. Please continue to support the Royal Oak Stores.
