SELF CATERING HOLIDAY PARK- PUBLIC MEETING 8th July 2003

Over 200 people packed the village hall for the Public Meeting called by the Parish Council, chaired by Mrs Kaye Gunningham, to inform residents about the proposals for the Holiday Village on 45 acres (19Ha) on the land alongside Sand Road and Lower Norton Lane (plan to follow).
Mr Derek Mead was also present and answered many questions. Many people spoke of their concerns that a Holiday park of the size proposed amounts to over intensive development in an area outside of the village boundaries. At present the holiday facilities and the residential development sit reasonably comfortably together. Other people expressed their concern that the road structure (and the maintenance of the roads in the area) are unsuitable to sustain the movement of such an influx of visitors.
Mr Mead has offered to hold an "open day" in order to explain the plans and the Environmental Assessment further.
