KEWSTOKE SHORT MAT BOWLING CLUB

Last year this Club celebrated its 10th anniversary. It was formed at the suggestion of the Village Hall Committee as a facility to use the newly built hall. The Club started with inexperienced members but made up for this with a great deal of enthusiasm. It is now a firmly established as a respected member of the local bowling scene.

Each year several 'friendly' inter-club matches are arranged in which all members participate. For the more competitive bowlers the club takes part in local leagues, having won the Bristol & District Cup in 1997 with promotion to the 1st Division and then runners up in the 1st Division the following year. In 1999, although still affiliated to the Avon County SMBA, the club played in the Woodspring League as with the boundary changes we now back in North Somerset. Two members are in the Avon county Squad.

Kewstoke Village Hall is situated in Crookes Lane, Kewstoke, BS22 9XJ, approximately 3 miles north of Weston-s-Mare Tel: 01934-416564. As this is a holiday area, visitors and new members are always welcome. Club woods are available. We meet every Friday evening and Sunday afternoon.
